You don’t have a right to exist. In business.

This might seem like a cliché – but it’s so accurate it necessitates repeating:
Every company is now a technology company and every company is now in the same business – the people business.
It doesn’t matter if you’re selling chicken sandwiches, hoverboards, flowers, furniture, real estate, prosthetic hips, or weekend getaways, you’re now a technology company and your obsession needs to be on people. People who are your employees. Your vendors. Suppliers. Funders. Customers.
Remember: You’re in the PEOPLE business. Period.
What are you doing to ensure all of your systems, processes, strategies, and ongoing focus is about an obsession with people? The people who keep you in business. Grow your revenue and brand. Allow you to expand and create more opportunities for yourself and others?
Are people the focus of your meetings? Analysis? Critical thinking. Allocation of resources. Your own precious energy. Direct it at your people and you can’t lose.
Direct it elsewhere – and you will. Lose. Lose business to your competitor. That may not even exist today.
