Be Proactive

Proactivity means that, as human beings, we are responsible for our own lives. Our behavior is a function of our own conscious choice, based on principles, rather than a product of our conditions, based on feelings. We can subordinate feelings to principles. We have the initiative and the responsibility to make things happen.

The principles of being proactive empowers us with responsibility, choice, accountability, initiative, and resourcefulness. It gives us the ability to pause in between stimulus and response based on principles and desire. It helps you to use proactive language such as "I choose to" instead of "I have to". We can move forward with confidence knowing that no one can make us feel less than.

This idea is a dramatic paradigm shift for many people. It is so much easier to blame other people, conditioning or conditions for our own stagnant situation. But we are responsible-- "response-able" -- to control our lives and to powerfully influence our circumstances by working on what we are.
