Avoid Gossip

 

The quickest way to lose trust is by revealing something that was told to you in confidence. Or worse, participating in or spreading gossip about another individual. 

If you seek to build trust rather than destroy it, avoid gossip at all costs.

If you know information but aren't sure if that person wants it shared, always ask that person before sharing it. As you practice asking before sharing, people will see you as a reliable confidant.
